Care of Others is grounded of Care of Self

RESIDENTIAL RETREATS

Retreats can take place in many different settings, from five-star accomodations in a 'natural' setting to camping in the desert outback. They are usually five-day retreats but may be as much as ten days. A focus more on process. Meets SOBI "Residenial" requirements.

WORKSHOPS

Workshops are typically two days though some can be as long as four or five days. It depends on the topic and the needs. Distance learning is a possibility with a number of SOBI credited courses.

Consultations, Tutorials

Time with Richard: in person, telephone, email, etc. Usually goes in hourly allotments. The purpose of the meeting, the topic and mode, is yours to decide.

A lot of quiet and slow, spiced with humor and irreverence. Float and flow along surfaces.

Money Mattters

It is necessary that there is a commitment and verbal commitments often mean little. Only in special cases do I want to teach at a cost to me. In order to continue on I need to make some minimum amount of money. In the event I take in more than I reasonably need the excess will be diverted to what I deem a worthy cause, devoted to Continuing On. Costs listed for an event are the suggested cost, usually in the lower range of what these sorts of things typically cost. If you need to show up we can usually negotiate something. Tell me your story.

The vision is for Ongoingness; Life continuing on . . . .

I am I and my circumstance;

and, if I do not save it, I do not save myself.                       —JOSÉ ORTEGA Y GASSET

Changing the Conversation

Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly. For some strange reason I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. And you can never be what you ought to be until I am what I ought to be––this is the interrelated structure of reality.

        —MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.

The Story Teller

Now, more than ever . . . our place in the universe and the place of the universe in us, is proving to be one of active relationship. That is more than a scientist's credo. The separateness of our lives is a sham. Physics, mathematics, music, painting, my love for you, my work, the star-dust of my body, the spirit that impels it, my politics,  clocks diurnal, time perpetual, the roll, rough, tender, swamping, liberating, breathing, moving, thinking nature, human nature and the cosmos are patterned together.

      —JEANETTE WINTERSON                Gut Symmetries

What you do, what you become, is not my concern.                      ROBERT MCCALL

Yes, there is beauty

There is love

There is joy.

All you who suffer from

the world's miseries

Defend them.
